About Michelle
Since joining Air Products as a market specialist, Michelle has helped many food manufacturers and processors to realise the benefits of using gas mixtures to improve the shelf-life or enhance the appeal of specific food groups. During the past decade, take up of Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) in the UK has soared.
In her current role as European MAP specialist, Michelle is a recognised industry expert; up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies. As well as advising companies on MAP solutions, she provides onsite training in how to use MAP to a wide range of food businesses and packaging machinery companies. She is also a focal point for MAP training within Air Products.
Her experience
Michelle has a wealth of experience in the food sector as a MAP specialist and all her knowledge about how gases react with different food groups has been included in Air Products’ MAP handbook – a highly-valued industry resource.
During the course of her career, she has particularly enjoyed working closely with food businesses of all sizes – from cottage industries and farm shops to leading food producers - to support their growth plans. As well as advising on MAP solutions, she likes to explain how complementary freezing and chilling systems can also be used.
In the future, she aims to apply her knowledge and experience to food businesses across Europe, where the MAP marketplace is still developing.

Michelle is a true foodie who loves tasting and cooking food from all corners of the world. Appreciative of fine-dining, Michelle also enjoys nothing more than bringing back a recipe of a dish she has tried on holiday and cooking it for her family.
